Cocaine found in woman’s breast implants

Unknown | 19:42 |

A Panamanian woman was nabbed at a Spanish airport when custom officials discovered that her breast implants were stuffed with cocaine.

The woman who flew to Barcelona from Bogota, Colombia came under heavy scrutiny when she failed to explain the reason for her visit to Spain. The custom officials said she was taken for an X-ray when officials noticed fresh scars and blood-stained gauze on women’s chest.
On further examination it was discovered she was carrying approximately three pounds of cocaine- 1.38kg.
Spanish authorities conduct rigorous checks on passengers arriving from so called “hot-flights” from South America.

Mexican drug smugglers bombarding U.S with marijuana

Mexican drug runners feeling the heat from U.S border patrol agency are shooting marijuana filled canisters into U.S territory, the details of the new and bold tactic has emerged.

The Yuma Sun newspaper writer Chris McDaniel wrote this…
An attempt by drug smugglers to propel cans of marijuana into the United States with a pneumatic cannon was thwarted by Border Patrol agents over the weekend.
The incident happened sometime after sunset Friday in a field near County 22nd and the Colorado River, just northwest of San Luis, Ariz.
The drug smugglers crossed the Colorado River with the pneumatic cannon and entered an area of U.S. territory outside of the border fence. They then used a carbon dioxide canister to propel the pot over the salinity canal and the border fence into a field about 500 feet away. The marijuana was tucked inside what appeared to be soup cans inside of larger cans and sealed on the ends.

“By actually shooting it over the fence, they don’t have to worry about mules or smugglers actually backpacking it across,” said Kyle Estes, Yuma Sector Border Patrol public affairs officer, adding someone was most likely waiting to pick up the marijuana on the U.S. side.
Before smugglers could collect the drugs, a concerned citizen discovered the cans in the field and contacted the Border Patrol. Agents responded to the area and conducted an extensive search. Mexican authorities were also contacted to search their side of the border.
Although no arrests were made, and the smugglers escaped with the cannon, agents were able to seize a tank of carbon dioxide outside the border fence, along with 33 cans of marijuana. The cans contained about 85 pounds of pot worth an estimated $42,500. The pot is scheduled for destruction.
Similar smuggling methods using a pneumatic cannon have been used before in California, but “in this area I think this is new,” Estes said, noting smugglers are resulting to such non-traditional methods as a result of heightened border security in the Yuma Sector.

“We continue 24/7 watching all the areas along the border. We are in contact with the Mexican authorities on the south side and will continue to coordinate with them.”
During the past year, international smugglers have brought contraband into the Yuma area using underground tunnels, ultra light aircraft and makeshift ramps.
In July, federal agents and Yuma County sheriff’s deputies discovered a clandestine smuggling tunnel between a business in San Luis, Ariz., and a business in Mexico. The 755-foot tunnel was 60 feet beneath the ground and had been in operation for about six months to smuggle drugs into America and weapons and cash back to Mexico.

In August, agents responded to an ultra light aircraft incursion from Mexico near Somerton and recovered nine bundles that had been dropped to the ground. The bundles contained about 208 pounds of marijuana.

In October, two men attempted to drive a sport utility vehicle over the border fence 20 miles west of Yuma by using a makeshift ramp. The SUV became high-centered on the fence, and the men had to flee back into Mexico when Border Patrol agents arrived on scene.

Millionaire’s dream of finding Latina girlfriend for Xmas vanishes in thin air

A millionaire who couldn’t find love on the ground went high-up in the air with a help of a billboard seeking for a girlfriend especially a Latina, but his hopes vanished in thin air when unknown persons destroyed the billboard in San Diego California.
The advertisement, put up Friday by the California real estate mogul, was vandalized the same day and completely destroyed over the weekend.
The damage was apparently due to the ill feeling caused within the Latino community by the conspicuous ad placed by the businessman, who appeared on the ABC television program “Secret Millionaire”.
Paskin, 63, paid close to $4,000 for the billboard, which read “All I want for Christmas is a Latina Girlfriend” and included an e-mail address so that anyone interested could get in touch with him.
On Friday some unknown persons ripped off the part of the ad showing the e-mail address, and over the weekend the ad was completely destroyed, leaving only the blank billboard.
The millionaire had previously made news for having handed out $125,000 in $10 bills in a Detroit neighborhood and for having paid a year’s rent for a woman who lost her family in a violent crime.
Paskin has not announced whether he will replace the billboard, but in a statement to the media said that before the damage was done he received thousands of e-mails in response.

Yahos malicious software architects busted, blamed for infecting 11M computers and $ 850m losses

The United States Federal Bureau of Investigations aided by social media giant, the Facebook has busted an international criminal gang that was involved in massive identity theft and infecting nearly 11 million computers with botnet, a FBI news release said here on Tuesday.
The Department of Justice and the FBI, along with international law enforcement partners, announced the arrests of 10 individuals from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, New Zealand, Peru, the United Kingdom, and the United States and the execution of numerous search warrants and interviews.
The operation identified international cyber crime rings that are linked to multiple variants of the Yahos malicious software, or malware, which is linked to more than 11 million compromised computer systems and over $850 million in losses via the Butterfly Botnet, which steals computer users’ credit card, bank account, and other personal identifiable information.
“Botnet” is short for robot network; botnets are made up of compromised computer systems and can be utilized by cyber criminals to execute distributed denial of service attacks, send spam e-mails, and conduct underground organized criminal activity, to include malware distribution.
Facebook’s security team provided assistance to law enforcement throughout the investigation by helping to identify the root cause, the perpetrators, and those affected by the malware. Yahos targeted Facebook users from 2010 to October 2012, and security systems were able to detect affected accounts and provide tools to remove these threats.
The investigation was conducted by the FBI’s Cyber Division, International Operations Division, and the following field offices: Albany, Baltimore, Boston, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Dallas, El Paso, Honolulu, Jacksonville, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, New Haven, New Orleans, Norfolk, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Sacramento, San Diego, San Juan, St. Louis, Tampa, and Washington Field; the Department of Justice’s Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section; the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Hawaii; the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Pennsylvania; and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia.
The FBI received invaluable international cooperation, assistance, and response from the following partner organizations: Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior; Republic of Croatia, Ministry of Interior General Police Directorate, National Police Office for Suppression of Corruption and Organized Crime; New Zealand Police; Peruvian National Police; and the United Kingdom’s Serious Organised Crime Agency.
Recommendations
It is recommended that computer users update their applications and operating system on a regular basis to reduce the risk of compromise and perform regular anti-virus scanning of their computer system. It is also helpful to disconnect personal computers from the Internet when the machines are not in use. Computer users who believe they have been victimized should file a complaint with the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center at www.ic3.gov
