Ecuadoran authorities have rescued two women who were kidnapped near the Colombian border a day earlier, official sources said.

Police and armed forces staff “located and rescued the two girls, Australian and English, kidnapped in Cuyabeno,” Interior Minister Jose Serrano said on Twitter, on Saturday.
The women, a British and another from Australia, traveling in a canoe were part of a group of seven tourists when they were kidnapped near the nature reserve in Tarapora province.
It was not known who were behind the kidnappings, but according police officers, Colombian ex-paramilitary group known as Black Eagles may have abducted the tourists.
Neither specifics of the rescue nor the identification of the tourists were known immediately.
