Saudi Arabian government plans to shut-down around 100 lingerie shops staffed by males in an attempt to create a “safe environment for working women”, a newspaper said here on Sunday.
The newspaper Al-Eqtisadiah said that all shops which violate “feminisation and nationalization of jobs” would be closed. The move is aimed to provide jobs to more females in Saudi where 30 percent of women are unemployed.
Last month, on the directions of King Abdulla, male staff members employed at cosmetic shops was asked to vacate their posts.
