“Eat
cockroaches to win a python” contest at a pet store in Florida ended in
a tragedy when the grand prize winner collapsed and died after stuffing
unknown number of insects, Florida media reported.

Several contestants ate the insects at the Ben Siegel reptile store in Deerfield Brach, Florida. The sheriff department said Edward Archibald, 32, became ill and began to throw-up the roaches and worms he ate before collapsing outside the store.
The police said they are waiting for an autopsy report and none other participants complained of illness.

An attorney representing the pet store in a statement has stated that “All participants in the contest were entirely aware of what they were doing and that they signed thorough waivers accepting responsibility for their participation in this unique and unorthodox contest.”
