The
Swedish ship the “Freedom of Flotilla” left the Italian port city,
Naples and heading to Gaza in its renewed effort to break Israel’s
blockade against the embattled Gaza strip, but an Israeli foreign
ministry spokesman has said that the ship would not be allowed to run
its government naval blockade.

The ship with 17 rights activists on board is expected to reach Gaza coast in mid October. The ship, according to Swedish media is carrying humanitarian goods to the Gaza strip. But the Israeli government suspects the ship is carrying arms for Hamas.
The Naples mayor Luigi de Magistris said on Friday that “”This is not an initiative in favor of Hamas but in favor of Palestine, of the Palestinians who live in Gaza, and in favor of two states living as neighbors in peace and security.”
In 2010, Israeli Defense Forces shot and killed nine Turkish nationals when they boarded a Turkisg passenger ship Mavi Marmara that participated in the flotilla movement.
