An
estimated 500,000 million people failed to show up for the Oktoberfest
this year, but 2012 had more number of revelers boozed to the point of
unconsciousness than 2011, Swedish media reported.

Nearly two million gallon of beers were chugged this year, slightly over by 200,000 gallons compared to 2011, the Local newspaper reported.
The Red-Cross had to deal with 800 incapacitated binge-drinkers and more than 2, 500 sought outpatient medical treatment, an 11 percent more than 2011.
During the first week of Oktoberfest alone, about 445 partiers, most of them under the age of 30, considerably underestimated their alcohol tolerance – and the beer’s potency. The number of festival guests who drank themselves into a stupor was up by 20 percent, according to the Bavarian Red Cross, the newspaper said.
The police had to be called more than 2,000 times during the 14 day celebrations and 1,400 crimes were recorded.
Four rape cases were also reported.
