EAST LOS ANGELES (KTLA) — A woman was kidnapped, threatened with explosives and then forced to rob a bank Wednesday morning, police said.

It happened at a Bank of America branch at Atlantic Boulevard and Verona Street in East Los Angeles.
The suspects apparently kidnapped the woman from her home in Huntington Park.
They then taped an apparent explosive device around her waist and forced her to enter the bank and get money.
The suspects got away with an undisclosed amount of money.
Police cleared the bank branch, and eventually brought the woman out safely.
Some reports indicated that she may be an employee of the bank who was kidnapped on her way into work.
A sheriff’s bomb squad robot was sent in to examine a pipe-like object in the gutter in front of the bank.
A bomb squad member in protective gear then came in and placed several bags around the device.
There was a loud bang just after 9:45 a.m. as the device was detonated.
Some businesses in the immediate vicinity were evacuated as a precaution.
The suspects remain at large. They are said to be driving a white Kia with the partial California license plate number 6HOR54.
