Kent, Washington: A part from an airplane fell through the sky and landed on a quiet street in Kent Friday.

The large sheet of riveted metal landed in the middle of Southeast 231st Way near 128th Place Southeast in Kent’s East Hill neighborhood.
The Federal Aviation Administration, called out to investigate, identified the part as a landing gear door.
It narrowly missed landing on a car parked just a couple of feet away.
A photo from Leah Dermody, who lives nearby, shows an unidentifiable model number and manufacturer’s code on the door.
Neighbors rushed outside as soon as they heard it hit the ground.
Demody said some of her neighbors also claimed to have heard a plane pass very low over the neighborhood just before the part dropped.
Officials with the FAA took the part with them as part of their investigation.
