Despite New York Knicks off to a great start since 1999, the MSG networks which broadcasts their games is off to a rough start with insensitive poster campaign plastered in several areas of New York.

The network has said it would tear-down the posters and put brakes on the campaign, but some believe the damage is done.
One ad read “You can either go out and attempt to pick up sixes and sevens or stay home and watch (Knicks guard Jason) Kidd dish out dimes.”‘

Another ad read “You can either see a Broadway harness malfunctioning or you can watch real men fly.” The second ad was in reference to Broadway show Spiderman: Turn off the Dark in which actor Christopher Tierney fell 30 feet and broke his ribs. Ironically the poster depicts Amar’e Stoudemire, who would be in the sidelines at least for a month with a knee injury.

The New York post reported last week that the network would pull out the ad campaign after some senior executives admitted ‘bad judgment” and offered apologies to anyone they have offended.

The MSG network also reassured ESPN that the ads would be withdrawn.
