The IDF posted the video of the assassination on the video sharing site, You Tube on Wednesday.
Hamas in a statement acknowledged that Ahamed Al-Jabbari, the commander of its military wing was killed along with an unnamed associate during the missile strike. Palestinians on Wednesday claimed that at least 10 civilians were killed during air strikes on Wednesday.
An AFP photograph posted online showed crews dousing belching flames, while some rescue workers picking up what appeared to be body parts from the charred and mangled car.
Israel government also threatened with more strikes if incursion in the embattled Gaza Strip does not halt. A military spokesman has said that Al-Jabbari had “blood in hands”.
Hamas said that “Israel has declared war on Gaza and they will bear the responsibility for the consequences”.
Al Jabbari masterminded of Hamas takeover of Gaza in 2007. The Hamas commander is also blamed for the capture of Israeli Corporal Gilad Shalit during a raid on Gaza in 2006.
