Americans are outraged after a Massachusetts woman posted a picture of herself on Facebook sticking up her middle finger at a dead soldier’s tomb in Arlington National Cemetery.

During a work trip to the cemetery, Lindsey Stone squatted next to an unknown soldier and stuck up a middle finger and pretended to scream despite a sign saying  “silence and respect”.
On Tuesday the photograph went viral on social media and veterans were outraged over her behavior. Many have called her to be fired from her job. She works for a Cape-Cod based non-profit organization, the LIFE, where she assists adults with disabilities.
Stone’s Facebook page has been deleted since the posting.
Her employee LIFE said that no way the employee’s photograph reflects opinion and values of their organization. Stone and another employee both had been sent home on unpaid leave. In reply Stone has asked her employers to send her home for good.
She later released an apology calling the photograph “ignorant and distasteful”.
