A Texas woman has filed a lawsuit against Texas police department claiming that one of her breast implants ruptured because of rough manhandling by a policeman during a traffic stop.

Rebecca Van Hooser has claimed that Pantego police officer Eric Alvarez yanked her right arm during the traffic stop so hard that her right breast implant burst and began leaking liquid into her body.
When she screamed in pain and told the officer he was hurting her, he said, “You’re not supposed to be comfortable,” the lawsuit claims.
Van Hooser said she’s had several surgeries since, including a total mastectomy of her right breast.

The Arlington mom was on a trip to buy cookie dough when she was pulled over for a headlight violation, the newspaper reported.

She was pulled out of the car and arrested after Alvarez discovered she had an outstanding speeding ticket.

The suit also said Van Hooser asked for an aspirin while in jail, but Alvarez refused to give her one.

Van Hooser is suing the town for violating her constitutional rights against improper search and seizure.

“We respect police officers,” her lawyer, Susan Hutchison, told NBC Fort Worth. “We’re glad they’re out there protecting us. When you arm someone with a gun and a badge and the authority that they have over people, you’ve got to train them appropriately, and they have got to be able to react reasonably and responsibly.”

The Pantego police department has not commented on the suit. A city manager told the Star-Telegram the matter was being investigated.

All breast implant have the same basic design. Implants are made up of a silicone envelope, with a filling of some kind--usually either saline or silicone gel.
