Zumba sex scandal participants “hip-hopping” to hide their faces 0

Zumba is a Colombian dance that involves dance and aerobic elements.According to Wikipedia, the Choreography incorporates hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, martial arts and meringue. But in Maine, the step arrangement was added another dimension to it; sex, sex for money, coupled with a work-out.
Alexis Wright may be credited for the new innovation. For running an alleged “high-end” prostitution ring off her studio along with her business partner Mark Strong. Both face over 160 charges.
Wright’s alleged crime came to light when a blogger wrote “she may be living a double life’.

According to newspaper reports her clients included, farmers, doctors, lawyers, television personalities, policemen and businessmen. Her clients have been videotaped running into 100 of hours and according to one client he paid a whopping $ 1,500 for an hour.
But the lingering question among the seaside community of Kennebunk whether Wright secretly recorded her clients or with consent. Screen shots obtained from Wright’s laptops consisted of 14,000 screen shots and according to reports and police statements some of her clients were “politicians”.

The whistle blowing blogger wrote this on August 30, 2012 all you have to do is [search online for] her full name (which is pretty ridiculous that she goes by that) & you’ll see her doing all kinds of … acts with married old men, herself & other females.”
The blogger doesn’t mention Mark Strong by name. But the author does mention another man. “Her so called ‘boyfriend’ even cameos in some of the videos.” The author also writes “the sad thing is you can see her little sons’ toddler bed in the background of one video. Poor kid if he only knew”.

The next tip was sounds being heard by neighbors of the commercial business. They claim they heard male and female sounds that suggested conduct other than rumba dancing. When the tips reached the landlord, he came in and allegedly found a camera, a tripod, and a massage table. Soon, purported comparisons of moldings, wall surfaces, and floors between the video and the commercial space allegedly tipped off investigators. When police started to stake out the premises, they caught men coming all night long to the Zumba facility.
But who are the men? Police tell news that many of the men are married. “Townspeople said they’ve heard that lawyers, doctors, law enforcement officials, a television personality and other well-known people in town are included in a detailed clientele list police found,” reports CBS.

So who is the television personality? That remains unclear. Wright pleaded not guilty this week to more than one hundred charges. “What we are really concerned about is coverage that poisons the potential jury pool”, her attorney told the York County Coast Star. “What’s out there is one-sided in that it’s the state’s version of events.”
Wright claims she didn’t commit any crime despite she is being charged with 106 counts. But what Wright failed to realize more charges may be added as police investigators were going through 100s of hours of video each frame by frame.
On Friday an Attorney, Stephen Schwartz representing two of the accused asked the Judge Thomas Warren to stop the police from releasing the names of the clients. But the motion was thrown out by the Judge.
On Monday police released some of the names of the clients, in total 21.
KENNEBUNK, Maine — Police have released the names of the first round of alleged clients of Alexis Wright, who allegedly ran a prostitution operation out of her Kennebunk Zumba studio, charging 21.
The 21 individuals are charged with the misdemeanor count of engaging in prostitution.
The names released late Monday afternoon are the first of what police said will be groups of names released as alleged clients are summonsed. Police say those charged utilized the services of Wright, 29, of Wells, who they say operated a prostitution operation out of her Pura Vida Studio and an office space on High Street.
Police say Wright was working with Mark Strong Sr., 57, of Thomaston, who allegedly researched potential clients and helped set up video equipment to record the sexual encounters.
Wright and Strong have been indicted and pleaded not guilty to more than 160 counts combined — Strong with 59 and Wright with 106 — including promoting prostitution and invasion of privacy.
According to court documents, investigators said Wright had sex with clients for money, and that she and Strong conspired to videotape the encounters.
The release of the names Monday came after three failed attempts by attorney Stephen Schwartz, representing two of the “johns,” to prevent the names from being released.
Schwartz, of the Portland firm Schwartz & Schwartz, said his clients are victims of the crime of invasion of privacy. He argued that revealing their identities before a trial would cause “severe and completely irreparable harm” to their families, personal and professional relationships, while potentially prejudicing the jury pool.
As a result of Schwartz’s last appeal, a judge ordered that those alleged clients who have been charged but are also victims of invasion of privacy shall not have their addresses released to the public.

The men charged this week includes:
Gary Bahlkow, Jens Bergen, Norman Crepeau, Joseph Cuetara, Kenneth Fairbanks, Donald Hill, Monie Hobbs, David Kline, Robert Labonte, Dale Madore, Paul Main, Harry McMann, Kevin Pagliccia, Claude Palmer, Philip Parker, Colin Powers, Clinton Ray, James Soule, John Verreault, James White and Peter Wormell.
Police said they plan to release the names of other individuals charged in the case in “batches” as they become available. The process, they said, could take months.
