“Take
me from darkness to light, from ignorance to bliss, and give me
peace”,family and friends at the candle light vigil for 10-month-old
baby Saanvi Venna, who is missing since Monday. Venna’s 61 year old
grand mother, babysitting at the time was found murdered in the family’s
apartment.
The Indian community along with Upper Merion police department and Delaware Citizen’s Crime Commission has offered a reward of $ 30,000 to anyone with information leading to the safe return of 10-month-old Saanvi Venna, who is missing from her parents’ apartment in Pennsylvania since Monday.
Child’s grandmother, who was baby-sitting at the time, was found brutally murdered in the apartment.
On Wednesday night about 200 people gathered in King of Prussia to hold a candle light vigil for the missing baby. Friends, relatives and strangers prayed and pleaded for the safe return of Venna.
“We hope that Saanvi is returned so we can all celebrate her birthday . . . together,” said Sanikommu, a cousin of the baby’s father. He said the father, Venkata Konda Siva Venna, was too distraught to attend, according to Philly news.
“Take me from darkness to light, from ignorance to bliss, and give me peace”, the family and friends joined in their voices.
On Wednesday morning investigators joined by Feds and K-9 units combed the woods behind the family’s apartment, where Saanvi Venna was last seen with 61 year old grandmother, Satayvathi Venna.
Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman said investigators were being guarded with information because “we do not want to do anything that would jeopardize the child’s safety.”
Authorities have interviewed all the close family members, including cousins, Sanikommu said.
“It’s not like they suspect the family,” Sanikommu said. “They said they want to have as much information as possible.”
As to a motive or theory police may have: “We are not sure.”
“We know there is no family dispute or anything,” Sanikommu said. “We are a loving family and everybody is close. We are with the family and trying to help them and help the police as much as we can.”
Saanvi’s parents feel terrible and are in a “state of shock,” he said. “If a child gets injured, you think, ‘I did not safeguard him properly.’ “They are frustrated that they could not protect their baby,” he said.
Autopsy results of the murdered woman would not be public, until further investigations are completed, according to police.
