A
mother was inconsolable last night when she found her two children aged
two and six stabbed to death by their nanny, who then tried to cut her
own throat with a kitchen knife at Upper West side luxury apartment in
Manhattan on Thursday.
The children’s Mother, Marina Krim, made the grim discovery when she returned home with her three old daughter Nessie. The dead children were identified as Leo, 2, and Lulu 6
According to New York police officials, the mother assumed that her children were outside with their nanny, 50 year old Yoselyn Ortega also known as “Josie’, when she searched for the children in their apartment.
When she couldn’t find the children, she went downstairs to ask the doorman whether he saw them. When he has said no, she ran upstairs and found her children dead in the bathtub. The nanny was found with stab wounds to her neck near the children’s bodies, according to police officials.
It was not clear how many times the children were stabbed with the kitchen knife.
The father of the children, Kevin Krim, the senior vice president and general manager of CNBC digital was escorted from the airport to the hospital where the children the lay dead. The children were pronounced dead at the St. Luke hospital.
A tenant in the same building told DNAinfo that he heard Marina Krim screaming top of her lungs and she was screaming “help me, help me”.
Marina Krim, who kept an online diary on Live Journal just three hours before the tragedy posted “Leo speaks in the most adorable way possible,” “Firstly, he speaks super clearly, so you can understand every word is he is saying.”
“One of the best parts of my day is after I drop both girls off at school and have 3 precious hours with little Lito-Leo all to myself,” Marina Krim wrote. “Ok, I’m near getting cheesy I adore this boy so much!!!”
The nanny, nicknamed as “Josie” was hired for at least a year. The postings in Live Journal revealed that the Krims’ visited the nanny’s family in Dominican Republic, where the three year old daughter Nessie was nick named as fast and furious.
Josie has been living the neighborhood for the past 20 years. She was taken to hospital in handcuffs with a white piece of cloth covering her face. She is in critical condition.
