manning the skies on helicopters shot and killed two suspected illegal
immigrants when a vehicle loaded with immigrants failed to heed orders
on Thursday, The Monitor reported.
The newspaper said when a Texas Parks and Department game warden attempted to pull over a vehicle carrying suspected illegal immigrants near La Joya, the driver took off prompting the warden to seek the assistance of Department of Public Safety helicopter to join the chase.
When the chase came to an end, authorities found three men shot, according to the newspaper. Two of them were pronounced dead at the scene and the third person was rushed to a nearby hospital and his condition was not known at the time this article being published online.
The newspaper said the police with assistance of helicopters were involved in search operation to find some men, who took to their heels soon after the chase ended.
It also said that six people were in custody and Texas rangers were conducing further investigations.
