WikiLeaks
founder Julian Assange addressing the United Nations General Assembly
from Ecuadorian embassy in London urged U.S government to stop
persecution of Wikileaks, people and sources.
Addressing the representatives via live video, he said “We commend and agree with the words that peace can be achieved… But the time for words has run out. It is time for the US to cease its persecution of WikiLeaks, our people and our sources.”
Assange accused the U.S government for detaining Bradley Manning without a charge and mistreating him. Speaking of Manning he added that the government has “degraded, abused and psychologically tortured”, in exchange of testimony against him.
