Man jumps into tiger den at Bronx zoo, while people watched in horror

man was mauled by a tiger when he jumped into its den in apparent
suicide attempt on at Bronx Zoo on Friday to the horror of fellow
passengers who were riding with him in a monorail, police said.
The man’s identity was not known immediately, but sources said, the 25 year old man leaped from his seat when the monorail passed the tiger den and landed inside where he was mauled by the tiger. Fortunately rescue officials were able to rescue the man from “claws of death”. The man later told the officials that he jumped with a purpose.
According to reports, the zoo officials were able to rescue the man using fire extinguishers. The reports further said that the man’s lung was punctured.
