A
fatal accident involving three 18-wheelers shut down a major highway
for several hours in Southern California on Friday, causing a major
traffic jam.
The accident occurred shortly before noon on freeway 60 that links Los Angeles with major technology distributors, the City of Industry.
The big-rigs crashed near Diamond Bar Boulevard blocking all East bound lanes. One person was pronounced dead at the scene and several others were rushed to nearby hospitals. According to California highway patrol officers, one truck
overturned spilling boxes of fruits across the freeway.
The cause of the accident was under investigations.
