Sixteen suspected militants were killed and six wounded when four missiles fired from a U.S missile struck a militant hide-out near Peshawar province in Pakistan on Thursday.

“The attack was aimed at the compound of Maulana Shakirullah, who is the commander of the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP),” officials said, Pakistan media reported.
The Hafiz Gul group linked to Al Qaeda has been repeatedly accused by the U.S government for cross border attacks into Afghanistan. The strikes destroyed the compound and also left 16 militants dead.
The strike came just few hours after an explosion killed eight people and wounded 20 others.
