The 90 year old historic landmark of Los Angeles, the Hollywood sign is getting a facelift finally.
The letters on the sign would be stripped, primed and would be a given a fresh coat of paint starting from Tuesday-as the sign would be celebrating its 90th year anniversary next year.
The original sign which was erected in 1923 by a real estate company read “Hollywoodland”, but in 1949, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce negotiated a deal to change the name into Hollywood. The last four letters were dropped.
Several celebrities own letters of the sign.
