Police
in Afghanistan arrested four people for beheading a woman who refused
to be dragged into prostitution, officials and media said.
The 20 year old woman, Mah Gul was beheaded after her mother-in-law
attempted to force her to have sex with an unidentified man in her home
in Herat province last week, the provincial police officer Abdul Ghafar
Sayedzada has told told the French news agency, the AFP.
“We have arrested her mother-in-law, father-in-law, her husband and the man who killed her,” he said, agency quoted.
According to police, the mother-in-law attempted to force the victim into prostitution several times. The primary suspect in the case has told the police that he was lured him into killing Gul by insisting that she was a prostitute.
“It was around 2:00 am when Gul’s husband left for his bakery. I came down and with the help of her mother-in-law killed her with a knife,” he said.
