president Mohamed Ould Abdul-Aziz has been rushed to the hospital after
being wounded in accidental gun fire on Saturday.
The BBC said that he has been receiving treatment at a hospital for light wounds.
The information minister Hamdi Ould Mahjoub has stated that a military patrol accidentally opened fire at the presidential convoy and the president and injury was not life threatening.
“On his way back to Nouakchott, the presidential convoy was shot by a Mauritanian patrol as they did not recognize his convoy,” Mr. Mahjoub was quoted by BBC
