A
naturalized United States citizen was arrested at the Los Angeles
airport for transporting a smoke grenade in his luggage from Japan.
Yongda Huang Harris, 28, was arrested on Friday when he arrived from Japan. Harris on his way to Boston to was stopped by the agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) when they found he was wearing flame retardant pants and a bullet-proof vest under his trench court.
According to agents when searched his checked luggage they found knives, collapsible baton, respirator, body bags, leather coated Billy clubs, handcuffs and a leg iron.
Harris appeared before a Los Angeles federal judge on Tuesday. ICE is conducting to determine why Harris was carrying banned items in his luggage. Transporting smoke bomb is illegal.
