Taliban suicide bomber detonated a powerful bomb through a NATO-led
Afghan foot patrol in crowded city streets of Afghan killing at least 20
people including three international troops and their interpreter on
Monday.
The human bomber traveling on motor cycle exploded the bomb around 8.30 in the vicinity of a market in the eastern city of Khost killing 10 civilians, six Afghan police officers and ISAF troops and the interpreter. The incident comes in wake of a report by German intelligence agency that violence against US-led NATO troops may escalate in coming months.
Initially the death toll was reported at 10.
A Taliban website claimed responsibility for the attack and said “our hero Mujahid Shohaib carried out the attack”.
Seventy people have sustained injuries.
