A Swedish factory worker who worked for packaging plant for three decades has been fired for rolling up his pants on the job.
“It’s warm. And it’s much easier to climb up and down on the annoying stairs where I work,” the fired employee Anders Sjöblom has told a local newspaper. The company officials of Stora Enso, where Sjöblom worked since 1974 were not available for comment.
The company in January in a memo sent out to employees requested all employees must be attired properly at all times and must wear long pants. The Swedish Local newspaper reported that employee Sjöblom was given several verbal and written warnings.
Sjöblom has no plans to file a lawsuit.
