Miss World Yukta Mookhey has lodged a complaint with Indian police
against her husband Prince Tuli for alleged domestic violence.
In her complaint Mookhey has alleged that her New York based busiessman-husband often beat her and she may approach the court seeking punitive damages against Tuli, whose family owns a business empire in Central India, the NDTV reported.
Tuli worked as a financial analyst for AIG American International Group and for JP Morgan Chase in New York.
Domestic violence in India is a non-cognizable violence, police has no powers to arrest unless the courts grants permission.
Mookhey was crowned Miss world in 1999 in London when she was 20 years old.
